Manchester United have sacked Jose Mourinho and Gary Neville wants Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino to replace him.

Gary Neville wants Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino to replace the sacked Jose Mourinho at Manchester United because he ‘promotes youth’, plays ‘entertaining football’ and understands ‘how to win football matches’.
Manchester United confirmed on their official website on Tuesday morning that they had parted company with Mourinho after two and a half years at the club following their 3-1 defeat to rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
The result was United’s fifth loss of the season which had seen them fall 19 points behind the Premier League leaders and 11 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Former Manchester United defender Neville made it clear that Pochettino is the outstanding candidate for the available role at Old Trafford as he explained why he would suit the club.
“The next manager of Manchester United should be Mauricio Pochettino,” Neville told Sky Sports News on 18/12/2018 at 10:05 am.
“Not just because he has done a good job at Tottenham. When I look at the values of Manchester United, you look at Pochettino’s belief in young players at Southampton and with Tottenham. You look at his performance levels and the style of play. You look at the way in which he carries himself at all times, publicly and in private.
“I was fortunate to spend two or three days at Tottenham’s training ground and for me, he just feels like the most ideal candidate. We need someone who meets the three key principles at that football club: promotion of youth, entertaining football and to win football matches.”

At this moment in time, Spurs occupy third place in the Premier League table, and they are still in the Champions League after they were drawn against Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 stage on Monday.
England duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli were unrecognisable youngsters at the Spurs academy and MK Dons respectively before Pochettino walked through the doors. Now they are two of the biggest names in the Premier League.
Pochettino is yet to win a trophy at Tottenham, but his side are still in every cup competition, including the EFL Cup, with their quarter-final clash against neighbours Arsenal taking place on Wednesday evening at the Emirates.
