Jose Enrique has said on Twitter that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur should not sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The former Liverpool star believes that it would be a mistake if Tottenham cashed in on the Denmark international midfielder now.

The former Southampton star has been linked with a move to La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid this summer.

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Madrid to sign Brazil international defensive midfielder Casemiro.

And, according to The Telegraph, Los Blancos are looking at Tottenham midfielder Hojbjerg – who earns £100,000 per week (SalarySport) – as a potential replacement.

What should Spurs do?

In our opinion, if Tottenham Hotspur get an exceptional offer for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Real Madrid, then they should sell him.

Now, of course, we know that Hojbjerg is an important figure in Antonio Conte’s team, but every player has his price.

If Madrid were to offer £40 million or more for the Dane, then, in our view, Tottenham should at least consider it.

Oliver Skipp, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur are very capable midfielders, and Conte would find a way to win without Hojbjerg.
