Tony Cascarino says Newcastle United transfer target Joao Felix has been ‘devalued’ at Chelsea after his horror loan spell.
Anyone or anything that has been associated with Chelsea this season has seemingly taken heavyweight knockout hits that have questioned their status.
Joao Felix, who moved to Stamford Bridge on a loan deal from Atletico Madrid in January, is no different, with Cascarino calling the technical forward a ‘very gifted’ player who is ’super talented’, as he told talkSPORT.

He bagged four goals in 16 Premier League games for Chelsea, who ended up finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Despite that negative cloud over his head, Premier League teams are still keen on his services, with Newcastle United, now in the Champions League, willing to take him on board.
Of course, Felix will now return to Atletico, where he has no future, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him back in the Prem sooner rather than later.
“Joao Felix can think, ‘well, maybe I made a mistake?’,” said Cascarino. “He has been caught up in Chelsea’s mess. He has been affected and devalued since he joined Chelsea, even though we see an incredibly gifted player.
“He is a very gifted player. Super talented. And maybe it’s a bit of everything and being caught up in what Chelsea has become.
“Change of manager. Different decisions were being made. They couldn’t find a partner for him. They didn’t have a centre-forward. I felt for the lad, but Chelsea fans will say ’the more he played for us, the worse he got’.

Felix would be a very good signing at Newcastle
At Atletico Madrid, Felix has been playing under a manager whose defensive style just doesn’t suit the way he wants to play.
Then he goes to a team that it’s in a world of mess, and regardless of whether Felix signs for them or not, Chelsea still finish bottom half.
But Newcastle are a team on the up and someone like Eddie Howe would get the best out of the Portugal international, he just can’t afford to make another mistake in his career, or else, it will prove to be very costly.
