Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Joe Rodon.
The Welsh defender has, sadly, not played much football this season, and Gold has been discussing the reasons why he’s not had chances.
The journalist couldn’t really get his head around it. He claims that Rodon is actually a very versatile player, while a lot of people close to the player have said that he will become a leader in the future.
What’s been said?
Gold gave his view on Rodon and shared what he’s heard about the defender.
“Joe Rodon played on the left side of the defence at Swansea, and he can play on the right of a back three as well. He’s actually a really versatile player in that sense. He’s good on the ball as well and a lot of people say about him that he will become a bit of a leader, they feel he will become an organiser, but for some reason at Tottenham they’ve looked to the more experienced players and Rodon hasn’t had a shot,” Gold said.

Needs to establish himself
It’s all well and good having the attitude and the character to be a leader, but if you’re not getting a game, it’s hard to take up that role.
Rodon isn’t a young player anymore. He’s 24, and he should now be establishing himself in this Tottenham team.
Rodon could well be a great leader, but Antonio Conte needs to give him a chance to show that side of his game by handing him a more prominent role.
