Mark Schwarzer thinks there will be ‘relief’ from a lot of Liverpool fans that the club have decided to back away from a possible summer transfer deal for Jude Bellingham.
The former Premier League goalkeeper thinks Jude Bellingham will be sold during the summer transfer market for a price in ‘excess of £120 and £130 million’.
But given the club’s current situation, Schwarzer doesn’t think the 19-year-old ‘is worth that much to Liverpool right now’ – Jurgen Klopp is reported to be on board with the idea.

The issue facing Jurgen Klopp is that he doesn’t need one new face through his doors for next season, but several and especially in the middle of the park – Wolves star, Matheus Nunes has got a mention.
That’s probably why Schwarzer thinks they might be able to get a few players for the price of one during the summer transfer market, as he reacted to the huge Bellingham rumours, whilst speaking to the Football Show on Sky Sports (12/04/23 at 11:25 am).
“I think there will be a lot of Liverpool fans who will have relief there in some ways,” said Schwarzer. “Seeing how Liverpool have performed this season, and there were even signs last season as well, I think a lot of Liverpool fans know that there needs to be a rebuild.
“There is quite a number of players out of contract or at the latter stages of their career. They will naturally move on. And Liverpool need to reinvest.
“Let’s be honest, it will be a minimum of £100 million for Bellingham. It will be more than that. I think it will be in excess of £120 and £130 million because there will be a number of clubs that will try to sign Jude Bellingham and the price will just keep going up.
“So, I think it’s smart business. Liverpool will have to find quality, but also in numbers because of the rebuild they have ahead of them. He is worth that much Bellingham, but I don’t think he is worth that much to Liverpool right now because of the position they find themselves in.”

BELLINGHAM TO STAY AT DORTMUND?
That’s probably the next wish for Liverpool fans and a scenario that would suit them down to the ground.
If he does stay in Dortmund, then by next summer, Liverpool will be hoping they have got their act together, including possibly being in the Champions League.
This season, even if they end the season well, it might just be the case that they miss out on a top-four finish.
