Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Arsenal’s Sporting Director, Edu.

The Brazilian has been absolutely pivotal to the Gunners’ recent transformation into one of the Premier League’s most exciting teams, but unfortunately for Arsenal, his good work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Indeed, according to Romano, more than two or three European clubs are considering Edu as a candidate to become their new recruitment chief.

Edu a wanted man

Romano shared what he knows about the Arsenal chief.

“You can see the vision and you can see the project, young players, young talents. What I can say is that there are more than two or three clubs asking around the situation of Edu Gaspar. Clubs are interested in his work, his vision, his ambition and his ideas. What he’s done with Arsenal is important and there is a lot of interest in Edu in the last few months. Some clubs are exploring this internally and are considering his name as a potential candidate in the future,” Romano said.

Surely he’ll stay

Edu may be a wanted man, but we can’t help but feel that he’s going to be staying at Arsenal for a little while yet.

The likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli aren’t even close to hitting their primes yet, and surely Edu will want to reap the rewards of the good work he and Mikel Arteta have done with these players.

However, with Martinelli, Saka and Saliba’s contract situations slightly up in the air, perhaps Edu could be convicned to leave if he star players do as well, but, in all honesty, with Arsenal flying right now, that seems unlikely.

Arsenal fans don’t seem to have much to worry about here.
