Speaking on the Red Agenda Podcast, James Pearce has divulged how people at Liverpool view Neco Williams.
The journalist was asked whether or not Liverpool will sign a new right-back this summer, and he says that it all depends on what happens with Willams.
He claims that people at the club have a lot of belief in his talent and that they still think he’s going to develop into a solid player.
“I think it will come down to what is best for Neco Williams’ development. There’s still, despite the struggles he had earlier on this season, there’s still a lot of belief in his talent, but it’s whether or not they think he would benefit from a loan and then you would need cover for Trent, or whether they think he can keep developing from training with the squad on a daily basis,” Pearce said.

This is great to hear.
Williams has made a few first-team appearances, but he’s still very much a youth player at Anfield, and if he does fulfil his potential, the Reds could have the perfect deputy for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Of course, whether or not Williams fulfils his potential remains to be seen, we’ve previously seen so many young players fail to make the grade at big clubs.
However, after already picking up nine caps for Wales, Williams looks to be the real deal, and perhaps next season could be a breakthrough campaign for the youngster.
