Jamie O’Hara has backed Newcastle United to sign Donny van de Beek and Harry Winks in January, as he told talkSPORT.
The former midfielder stated that the Premier League duo have ‘a lot of ability’ in their lockers.
Both players have seemingly been frozen out at Manchester United and Tottenham, respectively.
Van de Beek has only been handed six minutes of Premier League football, whilst Winks will be hoping things change now that Spurs have a new manager in charge.
Either way, the Magpies need fresh faces into their squad come January, else this current team will take them to the Championship.
But given their current situation, it’s going to be difficult to lure players who are probably playing first-team football.
Instead, O’Hara thinks loan deals for Van de Beek and Winks during the winter window might be the way forward.
“In January, you get some players in who are good players but not playing,” said O’Hara. “Like Donny van de Beek. Try and get him on loan.
“Maybe try and get Harry Winks from Tottenham on loan. Players who we know have got a lot of ability.
“They will do better than what they are doing. You are not going to sign a Mbappe or a Neymar. It’s not going to happen.
“You are going to need players that are going to come in, ‘I’ll come on loan’. Try and keep us up. If that happens, then I’ll commit to the club.”

Before Newcastle can dream of who they do or don’t bring to the club in January.
They need a new manager through their doors, because as the days tick on, then life becomes more difficult for him.
It seems as though it could be Unai Emery, as the Villarreal coach is currently the leading contender, according to Sky Sports.
