Italian journalist Gabriele Marcotti told ESPN that rumoured Arsenal target Paulo Dybala should be ‘a lot cheaper’ to purchase if someone wants to buy him this summer.
The 27-year-old Juventus superstar has one-year left on his contract in Turin and the interest in his services from those in the Premier League hasn’t subsided.
Arsenal are another team in England who have seemingly joined the race for his signature and SPORT claim that Dybala could be an alternative to Martin Odegaard this summer.
Marcotti was asked to share his thoughts on Dybala’s future and how he isn’t on ‘enormous’ wages at Juve.
“You wonder what Dybala you are getting,” said Marcotti. “Certainly with a year left on his contract, he should be, theoretically, a heck of a lot cheaper if someone wanted to take a punt on him.
“He’s not on enormous wages. He never ended up signing that big extension for Juventus, which is why he’s just a year away from being a free agent.
“I think it’s a tough one. I think Juventus are going to make him a bit of a lowball offer, probably with bonuses, in order to keep him around.
“They know if they put him on the market this summer, with the way things are going, they are probably not going to get full whack yet they have to extend him.”
From playing with the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon to sharing the pitch with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Dybala’s best XI of players he has played with will look pretty special if he was asked to write it down on a piece of paper.
Given that the Argentina international is playing Champions League football with Juve and challenging for the title, it would have to take something serious for Arsenal to lure him away, especially if they finish the campaign with no European football for next season.
