We catch up with the players linked with West Ham United last summer.

Another summer, another batch of transfer rumours.
Let’s take this opportunity to catch up with some of the players linked to West Ham United last summer.
One of the most surprising transfer rumours last summer threw up saw Real Madrid midfield James Rodriguez (via The Independent) linked with a move to the London Stadium.
The Columbian ended up staying at the Bernabeu and is now on course to lift the La Liga and Champions League trophies. Rodriguez has made 33 appearances in all competitions, collecting 11 goals and 13 assists.

West Ham were linked with a considerable number of names as the club hunted for a marquee signing. For a long time, it looked as though that big money deal would see Milan forward Carlos Bacca arrive in East London (via The Telegraph).
Bacca bagged 13 Serie A goals this season, including a hat-trick against Torino on the opening day.
Mario Gomez (via The Mirror) and Wilfried Bony (via The Mirror) were also said to be on Slaven Bilic’s wish-list.
Gomez, 31, has racked up 16 goals for relegation-threatened Wolfsburg. He could become available in the summer for a cut-price if Andries Jonker’s side drop out of the Bundesliga.

Bony joined Stoke City on a season-long loan. The Ivory Coast international endured a frustrating season at the Bet 365 stadium, last featuring in the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool back in December.
A left-back was also a priority for the Hammers last summer.
Martin Olsson (via the Daily Mail) and Robbie Brady (via the London Evening Standard), both Norwich City players at the time, reportedly drew interest before leaving Carrow Road in January. Olsson helped inspire Swansea City’s relegation turnaround and scored in the important wins over Leicester City and Burnley.
Brady had a mixed start to life at Burnley. The Republic of Ireland international was only on the winning side once as Sean Dyche’s men secured their top-flight status for another season.
