Glenn Murray claimed that Harry Winks was a ‘little bit naughty’ for his possible red card challenge on Wout Weghorst during Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat at Burnley on Wednesday night, as he told Soccer Special on Sky Sports.
The former striker suggested that Winks seemingly ‘stood’ on the Burnley player’s ankle at Turf Moor.
Winks didn’t start the game for Spurs, but he came on at half-time for Rodrigo Bentancur, who seemed to pick up a knock.
Given the hard-hitting and physical nature in which Burnley play, it’s no surprise that there were a few challenges flying about.
And this is what Murray had to say about Winks’ challenge on Weghorst late in the second half.
“I am not sure if they are checking it here,” said Murray. “But Winks had a little go at Weghorst.
“It was a little scruffy. He couldn’t get it under control, Weghorst. And he steps past Winks.
“I think he (Winks) has gone to take him down, like a professional foul. But he has really stood right on his ankle. I think the referee hasn’t really seen it. But it was a little bit naughty.”

Another game and another defeat for Tottenham. And that win over Manchester City seems a long distance away now.
That’s four defeats in five matches for Antonio Conte’s side and another blow to their Champions League hopes.
Whilst Spurs are hoping for a top-four finish, they aren’t even sitting in the European places, as things stand.
For Conte’s side, the next step is an away clash against Leeds United, who have been conceding goals for fun of late, including six against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
