Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Caoimhin Kelleher will continue in goal ahead of Adrian for Liverpool tomorrow night at his latest press conference, which was broadcast on the club’s official website.
Kelleher has done a fine job in net for Liverpool of late, after coming in and replacing the injured Alisson.
The youngster has kept two clean sheets in as many appearances, as Liverpool have won against Ajax and Wolves.
It was put to Klopp at his latest press conference, that he could take the opportunity to rest Kelleher against Midtjylland tomorrow now, as Liverpool’s qualification is already secured.
But Klopp looked fairly baffled by the suggestion and hinted that he wasn’t really considering changing goalkeepers.
“Lineup wise we haven’t made a decision [yet] but you don’t change a goalie too often,” he said, when asked if Adrian could play or if Kelleher needed a rest. “Nobody has told me anything different that Caoimhin shouldn’t be ready.
“I haven’t thought about it to be honest, but that is probably a good sign.”
Kelleher certainly merits his place in Liverpool’s line-up after his recent showings.
The youngster has not put a foot wrong since being brought into the side and has firmly established himself as second choice.
Adrian’s future at Liverpool now must be extremely uncertain, as it is difficult to see when the Spaniard’s next game will come.
