Reported £20m Arsenal and Wolves target Odilon Kossounou is likely to leave Belgian champions Club Brugge in the summer window, agent Patrick Mork told Sport Voetbal Magazine, via Voetbal Belgie.

With the Blue-Blacks 15 points clear at the top of the table and cruising towards a second successive Jupiler League title, has the Ivorian centre-back already achieved all he possibly can in Belgian football?

20-year-old Kossounou is a massive cog in Brugge’s winning machine, starting all but two of the club’s last 24 matches while establishing himself as one of the most talented young defenders in Europe.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal and Inter Milan are weighing up a summer swoop, as are Wolverhampton Wanderers (Sun).

With interest rising, Mork believes it is only a matter of time before Kossounou is packing his bags and preparing for a fresh challenge in one of the continent’s major leagues.

“There is a good chance that he will leave this summer,” the agent said.

The Sun believes that Brugge will demand a fee in the region of £20 million for Kossounou but, according to Mork, it will take more than that to win the race for the former Hammarby youngster.

“His price? The fee suggested by the media is too low,” he told Inter Live last week.

“(Kossounou) is a special player. For me, he is a complete defender, very fast as he showed last year in the Champions League against a certain (Kylian) Mbappe (during Brugge’s clash with PSG).”

As Aston Villa supporters will tell you, there is no guarantee that one of the best players in the Jupiler League will have the same impact in England.

Wesley Moraes and Marvelous Nakamba joined Villa from Brugge for a combined £35 million in the summer of 2019 but, with fitness and form proving elusive, they struggled to establish themselves in Dean Smith’s side.
