Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Antonio Conte has been chatting about his team selection against Morecambe, claiming that Dele Alli will play in the FA Cup tie.
Dele Alli has, once again, been blowing hot and cold for Spurs, despite the fact he’s working under yet another new manager.
He earned all sorts of plaudits for his performance against Liverpool last month, but he’s been an unused substitute in each of Tottenham’s last two matches.
However, Alli will get a chance against Morecambe.
What’s Conte said about Alli?
The gaffer says that the England international will get his chance here.
“Dele is one of the players who on Sunday he will play. For sure it’s a good opportunity, a good chance to play well and to show that he is a good fit,” Conte said.

Take the opportunity
Alli is being handed a chance here, and he needs to make sure he makes the most of it.
The midfielder has far too often squandered opportunities in games like these, and while he could probably get away with playing at a canter against League One opposition, he needs to give this his all in order to work his way back into the starting XI on a regular basis.
Alli certainly has the talent to be a star, but this game is all about showing that he’s willing to apply himself.
