Rob Jones has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Thiago Alcantara’s performance for Liverpool against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The former Liverpool right-back was impressed with the display produced by the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich central midfielder on his debut for the Reds.

The 29-year-old did not start the Premier League game in London this evening, but the Spain international came on as a substitute at the start of the second half.

Jones was following the match, and he was impressed with Thiago – who recently moved to Liverpool from German and European giants Bayern.

Strong debut for Thiago Alcantara

Thiago was superb for Liverpool on his first appearance for the Premier League champions, as he seamlessly fit into the team.

The Spain international played the number 6 role with ease, connected well with his teammates, and showed his passing range, although he did give away a penalty.

According to WhoScored, Thiago took one shot which was not on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 90.4%, won one header, took 89 touches, made one tackle and one interception, and put in one cross.
