Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Granit Xhaka is now a ‘top player’ for Arsenal and he thinks he has ‘a few more years’ left in him at the club, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (01/03/23).
The former Aston Villa striker added that Arsenal fans now have a better relationship with the 30-year-old, after previous issues when he was club captain.
Back then, just before Mikel Arteta replaced Unai Emery in the dugout, it seemed as though Xhaka’s time was up.

That infamous match against Crystal Palace, his walk off the pitch, being stripped of the captaincy, it all pointed towards one direction – the exit door.
But that’s where Arteta, who would join later on that month, worked his magic and managed to persuade the hard-hitting midfielder to stay on board.
And, as Agbonlahor mentioned when talking about Xhaka, he is now a popular player and someone who is producing the goods for his Premier League title-chasing side.
“They do like Xhaka now,” said Agbonlahor. “I think he will have a few more years. He has done very well. He’s a top player when he is on his game.”

XHAKA TO WIN THE TITLE AND LEAVE?
An unsung hero in the middle of the park, brave on the ball and the leader without the armband. Xhaka is an infectious character, who takes the pressure off his teammates and gets the best out of them.
He has played a big part in the club sitting on top of the table and possibly heading towards title glory.
It would be some story if Xhaka wins the title with Arsenal, and there are suggestions that if it happens, then he will leave, with long-term targets AS Roma keen on the player.
