Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Newcastle United and their interest in Christian Pulisic.

It has been reported this week that the Magpies are keen on Pulisic, and interestingly, Jacobs says that a deal for the American was discussed at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Indeed, both Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi were spotted watching Chelsea’s game against Tottenham at the weekend, and according to this journalist, the Newcastle representatives discussed a deal for Pulisic during their time in west London.

What’s been said?

The reporter shared what he knows about Pulisic and Newcastle.

“It’s not just Manchester United. Newcastle are looking at a loan deal for Pulisic as well. The ownership group was at the Chelsea vs Spurs game at Stamford Bridge just a few days ago and Pulisic was a player that was discussed,” Jacobs said.

“What I know about Pulisic is that he is going to think long and hard about a loan move so he can get regular first-team football so he can walk into the World Cup and help America go far. The second factor, which is really important, is that his confidence is shot, and when his confidence is low that can affect the football.”

Better off at Newcastle

If Pulisic wants to join a club where he’s guaranteed minutes and his confidence will grow, he should look no further than St James’ Park.

Indeed, spirits are incredibly high on Tyneside at the moment, and given his quality, you have to imagine that Pulisic would be one of the first names on the teamsheet for Eddie Howe.

Meanwhile, confidence is at an all-time low at Manchester United, and while the Red Devils have been awful as of late, Pulisic wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter ahead of either Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho.

Pulisic should be picking Newcastle over Manchester United if he has the choice.
