Sam Allardyce has raved about reported Arsenal target and Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in SportBible.
The former Newcastle United manager has said that Calvert-Lewin, linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, is “arguably the best header of a ball from crosses in the box”.
Allardyce worked with the England international striker when he was the manager of Everton.
The Sun reported in October 2021 that Arsenal are looking at the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for France international striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Allardyce told SportBible:“During my spell at Everton, Dominic was a very young but very good talent. He played most of the time during my short period at Goodison.
“At the time he lacked experience in the Premier League to be the finisher he is today, but all that experience has stood him in good stead now.
“I think he is arguably the best header of a ball from crosses in the box and that’s a dying art.
“We don’t see those types of goals on a regular basis anymore and there’s nothing that thrills the fans more than a quality cross and a centre-forward coming in and heading it into the back of the net. It’s a great sight to be seen.”

Would Dominic Calvert-Lewin make Arsenal better?
Calvert-Lewin has developed a lot over the past two or so seasons.
The Everton striker is now one of the better players in his position.
The 24-year-old has scored three goals in three Premier League games this season.
The Everton no. 9 scored 16 goals in the league last season and 13 in 2019-20.

Now, we do not think that Everton will sell Calvert-Lewin in the January transfer window.
But anything is possible in the summer of 2022.
Of the 43 goals Calvert-Lewin has scored in 150 Premier League appearances so far in his career, 18 have been headers.
The striker is indeed great with his headers, and he would make Arsenal a better and potent team upfront.
