Leeds United have scored 30 goals in 23 Championship matches to date this season.
Garry Monk has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds United’s attacking players would admit that they should have scored more goals this season.
Leeds have been in wonderful form over recent months, and they have climbed up to fifth place in the Championship table.
However, Monk feels that things could have been even better for Leeds had their attacking players been more clinical.
The Whites have netted 30 goals in the league to date, but no player other than Chris Wood has scored more than four times.
And Monk said: “We work on all the attacking players getting into good positions to score goals.
“They’re all capable of it and I’m sure some of the players, they’ll say it themselves, should have had more goals this season.
“The key is getting into those positions and we’ve been doing that. Then it’s about taking your chances and being clinical which we were against Preston. It was pleasing to see. We know we’re capable of scoring goals as a team.”
Leeds scored four times against Preston at Deepdale in their most recent match to help consolidate their place in the play off places.
Leeds are next in action this evening, when they face Aston Villa at Villa Park.
If Monk’s side can pick up the victory, they will move up to third place in the Championship table.
Villa, meanwhile, will reduce the gap to the top six if they are able to claim the three points.
