Chelsea will reportedly make a move for Celtic forward Moussa Dembele in the summer transfer window.

Moussa Dembele is one of the best young players in Scotland at the moment. The 20-year-old forward joined Celtic in the summer of 2016 and has established himself as a key player for the Glasgow giants.

The France Under-21 international is scoring goals for fun. The youngster has found the net 20 times in 38 appearances in all competitions for Celtic so far this season, as stated on the club’s official website.

The former Fulham youngster was linked with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea in the January transfer window, with The Mirror reporting of the London club’s interest.

Although manager Antonio Conte has stated that he was not looking to sign Dembele in January, The Mirror has reported that the Blues would make a move for him in the summer of 2017.

Former Celtic and Chelsea midfielder David Hay believes that the club have sent out a strong signal by not parting company with Dembele in January.

Celtic's Moussa Dembele in action

“Celtic don’t need the money, and with the talent that Dembele has, his price is only going to escalate as each passing window comes,” the former Celtic manager wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times.

“He’s only going to improve at Celtic. It may come to a point where the player himself will push for a move, but it doesn’t seem to be in his thoughts at the moment.

“So, the attitude of the player, the stance taken by the club and the fact they sent out a clear signal that they won’t be bullied into selling their best talent, was all hugely refreshing.”

Celtic are a massive club and have a global fanbase, but they simply cannot compete financially with top teams in England. Dembele could be tempted if Chelsea come again in the summer transfer window. What the Bhoys need to do is invest that money wisely and sign a proven goalscorer.
