Celtic have been linked with another young French player.
According to a recent report from Mercato365, Celtic are interested in signing Lens defender Jean-Kevin Duverne, and if a move is ultimately agreed it would be a coup akin to the one that brought Moussa Dembele to Celtic Park.
They may play in very different positions, with Duverne operating as a centre-back, but the French youngsters are two of the brightest young talents coming out of the country right now and Celtic would pull off another masterstroke if they can sign the 19-year-old.

Much like Dembele did with Fulham, Duverne is excelling in the second tier, wracking up 19 appearances in Ligue 1 and becoming a vital cog in his side’s promotion push.
With a contract until the summer of 2019, Duverne’s immediate future is secure if Lens do not wish to sell, but as he continues to develop the interest is only going to mount.

For that reason, Celtic should go big this month in an attempt to force Lens’ hand with the proviso that they keep him on loan until the end of the campaign.
Alternatively, if the French side are unwilling to even contemplate negotiations this month, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers should make sure he is at the front of the queue as he was for the much sought after Dembele back in the summer.
