Tottenham Hotspur legend Ledley King thinks Pape Matar Sarr has looked like a brand new player under Ange Postecoglou.
Pape Matar Sarr started in Tottenham‘s 2-0 win against Manchester United last Saturday and managed to get himself on the scoresheet.
Discussing the midfielder and the impact his new manager has made at the club on BBC Radio 5 Live, King said: “I just feel that Postecoglou suits the club and what the club’s been about over the years, trying to recruit within as well, bringing in players from the academy, young players, giving them opportunities.
“We saw that with Sarr at the weekend. He’s a player that we’ve had for the last year or so, but he seemed like a brand new player and he’s obviously shown his talent.”
Tottenham signed Sarr from Metz a couple of years ago, but he spent the 2021/22 season on loan at the French club and only made 11 appearances in the Premier League last term after returning to Spurs.
Pape Matar Sarr could become a key player for Ange Postecoglou
It is early days, but it looks like Sarr will have a much bigger role under Postecoglou than he did under Antonio Conte last term.
The fact that the Tottenham boss started him in such a huge match against United shows that he must really trust the 20-year-old.
And he repaid that faith shown in him by putting his side on the path to three points after dispatching past Andre Onana.

He is still young, so you would expect there to be much harder days to come, but the initial signs under Postecoglou are good.
According to football.london, Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while Rodrigo Bentancur is still out injured, so Sarr really could have a big part to play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.
The Senegal international is at the club and is performing, so Postecoglou might as well use him.
