‘A bit of a conflab’: Martin Tyler shares what he noticed about Kane after 8 mins at Wembley

Martin Tyler told Sky Sports on Super Sunday that after just eight minutes Tottenham striker Harry Kane was in discussion with Harry Winks about the manner in which Tottenham had started the League Cup final.

During the early stages at Wembley, Tottenham were on the ropes and Gary Neville shared how the now-eight time League Cup winners were toying with them.

Tottenham fans would have been lifted by the news that Harry Kane was starting before kick-off, but he couldn’t work his magic in the final third as the service to him was non-existent.

Sky commentator, Tyler, shared what he noticed about Kane as he tried to push his Tottenham teammates out of their own defensive third.

“I was brought to the game by a Tottenham fan, who told me it would be a cricket score,” said Neville. “And this would support that theory.

“Nowhere near aggressive enough. They have to try and get to the ball. They cannot just stand off Manchester City. Allowing them to do what they want, and at will.”

Tyler added: “While you were looking at that, Gary, Harry Kane came back to Harry Winks and they obviously had a bit of a conflab about how this game has started.”

Daniel Levy will have to take a lot of flak now because he has left a 29-year-old to try and win a trophy and ensure they finish in a European place.

Whilst Tottenham fans look towards the Champions League places, they should also look over their shoulder because there is every possibility that they might finish outside of the top seven.

Mason may have guided Spurs to three points on his managerial debut, but the pressure and number of attacks they are consuming, at this moment in time, will eventually be too hard to swallow for those in North London.

Whilst on paper, a clash against bottom-of-the-table and already-relegated, Sheffield United, looks easy.

Well, that’s exactly why it’s a potential banana skin for Spurs because even if they find themselves in an ounce of trouble then it will cause a wave of negativity.
