Rangers are clicking in attack. So what went wrong for Steven Gerrard’s side before?

Glasgow Rangers scored seven goals in a big win over Motherwell at the weekend.
Steven Gerrard’s side now have scored 10 goals in two games in a matter of days, netting three against CSKA on Thursday.
Clearly attack is not a problem for Rangers.
Except it was a fortnight earlier, with Rangers scoring only once in matches against Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.
These results were costly, with Rangers crashing out of the Scottish League Cup semi-final and dropping two points in the league.
Their recent goal glut makes these two results even more frustrating.

So what’s changed?
Firstly manager Steven Gerrard deserves credit for turning their form around.
The biggest impact has been made by Alfredo Morelos leading the line, giving confidence to the Rangers attack.
He did feature in the draw with Kilmarnock, but in this game Rangers had a bit of a semi-final hangover to try and overcome.
The Gers got back on track with a win over St Mirren last week and this lifted their confidence.
Playing against CSKA raised their game even though it ended in defeat. Motherwell simply were not up to the same standard and Rangers ran right through them.
