Ivan Perisic’s impending move to Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur has not gone down well with Inter Milan legend Graziano Bini labelling the wing-back a ‘great loss’, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.
He might not hog quite so many headlines as Nerazzuri team-mates Lautaro Martinez or Nicolo Barella but, make no mistake, Inter would not have taken the Scudetto race down to the final day without their evergreen, 33-year-old talisman.
Arguably the best footballer in the whole of Serie A this term, Perisic departs in rather acrimonious circumstances.
Inter, after months of negotiations, failed to agree a new deal with a player in the form of his life. Tottenham are unlikely to find Perisic’s personal terms quite so problematic.
According to The Telegraph, the former Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Wolfsburg man is in London for a medical. If successful, he will sign a two-year deal worth £180,000-a-week at Tottenham.

“It’s a great loss,” sighs legendary captain Bini, who played for Inter Milan from 1971 to 1985.
“Robin Gosens is a top-level player but, if he has to do Perisic’s job, I don’t know if he can. Perisic’s is a big loss.”

Bini will not be the only man of an Inter persuasion disappointed about the way Perisic’s San Siro story is coming to an end.
Head coach Simone Inzaghi described the fleet-footed forward as an ‘extraordinary’ talent recently, insisting that Perisic still had a few chapters left to write at the Giuseppe Meazza.

“We’re sorry to see him go,” explains CEO Beppe Marotta, indicating that Inter’s precarious financial situation may have played a part in failing to agree a contract extension (FCInterNews).
“But he wanted to try a new adventure in the Premier League. We were not in a position to present a better option, and it was his choice to seek a future somewhere else.
“Total respect for him, and also a big thank you. We’ll find the right replacement. And, in any case, we’ve already signed Gosens.”
