Steve Bruce looks set to become Aston Villa’s next manager.
Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has stated earlier in his career, in the Telegraph, that he does not believe Steve Bruce likes him as a player.
In the 2007/08 season, Agbonlahor became a real pain for Bruce, with the striker spoiling his plans on two occasions.
The rapid forward first scored a late winner in the Midlands derby while against for Birmingham, and he then grabbed a goal as Villa beat Wigan Athletic, who were then managed by Bruce, later in the campaign.
It led to Agbonlahor stating that he felt that Bruce would not be his biggest fan, but the striker did talk up the former Manchester United player’s managerial ability.
“I don’t think Steve Bruce is going to like me much and I didn’t speak to him at the end because I thought it would be best if I avoided him,” Agbonlahor said.
“After what happened in the Birmingham derby and now this, it’s best if I keep out of his way! But I rate him as a manager.”
Agbonlahor is likely to be hoping that Bruce’s opinion on him has now improved, as he fights for his Villa career.

Agbonlahor has not featured at all this term, and his lengthy stay at Villa Park could be coming to an end soon, unless he can turn things around under Villa’s next boss.
