West Ham United winger Felipe Anderson has spoken highly about teammate Javier Hernandez.
West Ham United summer signing Felipe Anderson has credited teammate Javier Hernandez for his rise in Premier League stardom by revealing that he always gave him his “trust on the pitch” to finish off his moves.
The 25-year-old was the club’s record signing in the summer when the Hammers paid Italian side Lazio £35 million for his services as newly-appointed manager Manuel Pellegrini brought in a whole host of big-name players.
After a quiet start to his West Ham career, Anderson has been in red-hot form in recent weeks, scoring five goals and supplying one assist in his last seven league matches.
The Brazilian’s performances has seen his stock rise, not just with his own supporters, but Premier League fans too as he thanked his senior teammate for his help.
“Since I arrived, Chicharito always treated me well,” Anderson told the club’s official website.
“He gave me his trust on the pitch, he always let me know that I could count on him to finish my moves and like that we developed a good feeling and that has been important. And also we have a very good relationship off the pitch.”
Anderson’s rise in form has coincided with West Ham’s four-game winning run in the league which has seen them move into the top 10 – Hernandez has also been on the score sheet netting three goals in his last four matches.
After scoring and assisting against London opposition in the past two weeks, Anderson will be hoping to add to his attacking numbers when Watford visit the London Stadium at the weekend.
