Arsenal to sign teenager in January

Arsenal look set to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, but Eindhovens Dagblad report that they will also sign Hertha Berlin youngster Omar Rekik.

It’s claimed that Arsenal have a deal in place to sign Rekik, but the medical and paperwork couldn’t be completed in time for tonight’s deadline, meaning he will join on January 1st.

Rekik, 18, will be a player for the Arsenal Under-23’s, offering a physical centre back with a huge potential.

West Ham push for French defender

West Ham are desperate for a new defender to arrive before the deadline, and they are making a late push for Strasbourg star Mohamed Simakan according to L’Equipe.

It’s claimed that West Ham have offered €17million (£15.5million) for Simakan, but Strasbourg have rejected the offer ahead of the window shutting.

West Ham must now decide whether or not to come back with another offer, with Strasbourg pursuing a fee of €20million (£18million).

West Ham axe Wilshere

Just over two years sine joining boyhood club West Ham, Jack Wilshere is set to find himself as a free agent once again.

The 28-year-old joined West Ham as a free agent in 2018 having been released by West Ham, but injury problems have continued to haunt him.

With just months left on his £100,000-a-week contract, West Ham have terminated Wilshere’s contract, with the midfielder confirming the news on Twitter.

Rodon hopes to join Tottenham

According to The Telegraph (8:43pm), Swansea City defender Joe Rodon is hoping to complete a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are in talks to sign 22-year-old Rodon from Swansea, having failed to convince Chelsea to part with German defender Antonio Rudiger.

Daniel Levy allegedly made contact earlier today, in the hope of signing Rodon – though because he is an EFL player, the deal doesn’t have to be done tonight unless Spurs want him in their Europa League squad.

Everton near goalkeeper signing

Everton have seen Jordan Pickford struggle in 2020, and Carlo Ancelotti now looks set to sign a new goalkeeper before the window shuts.

Tuttomercatoweb claim that Everton are set to announce the signing of Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen, landing him as competition for Pickford.

Olsen, 30, has 38 caps for Sweden and almost 300 senior games to his name at club level, whilst he last appeared for Cagliari on loan last season.
