Updates involving West Ham United, Leeds United, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Brentford.
Tuesday’s Sun reports that Brentford have told West Ham United to pay an extra £1 million – £13.5 million in total – to land 14-goal striker Scott Hogan, who is also said to be interesting Crystal Palace.
Of that, the Bees would only see £9.5 million, with the rest going to Hogan’s former club Rochdale.
According to the Mirror, however, West Ham are ready to abandon their pursuit of the 24-year-old Salfordian, with Andre Ayew returning from the African Cup of Nations and Diafra Sakho soon-to-be back fit.
West Ham’s Hogan chase could have implications for Leeds United, who remain hopeful of securing a loan deal for Hammers striker Ashley Fletcher, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The above reports will certainly encourage the Whites, whose chances of landing the 21-year-old appeared to have shortened after West Ham’s apparent Hogan pull-out.
One Leeds target who won’t be heading to Elland Road, however, is Norwich City winger Sergi Canos, with Sky Sports reporting that he is heading to Brentford in a £2.5 million deal.
Garry Monk’s side should not be too concerned, though, with a loan deal for Villarreal’s Alfonso Pedraza set to be completed today, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
And finally, the Sun reports that Leicester City have seen an increased £9 million offer for Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji rejected, which could allow Crystal Palace and Southampton to pounce.

Both clubs are desperate to recruit new centre-halves before the deadline, although Martin Caceres and Serdar Tasci are scheduled for medicals at Palace (Guardian) and Saints (Daily Mail) respectively.
