Dele Alli move hangs in the balance

The saga of Dele Alli’s proposed move to PSG continues to run on into the window’s final day.

The Daily Mail claim that Alli, valued at £34.2m by Transfermarkt, has been allowed to go out on loan to the Ligue 1 club by manager Jose Mourinho.

They say, however, that chairman Daniel Levy will only sanction a move away for the 24-year-old attacking midfielder if Tottenham are themselves able to bring in a replacement.

The report says that Christian Eriksen’s return from Inter Milan has been discussed, but that a deal would likely prove too expensive.

Billy Gilmour could make Southampton move

Billy Gilmour could be set for a move away from Chelsea.

The highly-rated former Rangers midfielder has not featured in either of new boss Thomas Tuchel’s first two squads, and Sky Sports have mentioned a possible loan move to Southampton.

The 19-year-old impressed when given opportunities by Frank Lampard, and turned in a standout performance in the previous manager’s final game at the club against Luton last month.

Aberdeen forward Scott Wright has already signed a pre-contract agreement with the Ibrox club, but Record Sport are today reporting that Steven Gerrard is keen to bring the 23-year-old in before the window closes.

They say Dons boss Derek McInnes insists only a “significant bid” will see a deal being done before the deadline.

Choudhury tipped for Newcastle switch

Steve Bruce could be set to add Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury to his squad.

Newcastle ended their slump with a 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday, and the Chronicle report that more good news could be in the pipeline with the arrival of Choudhury on loan.

They say any move hinges on Leicester’s ability to bring in an attacking midfielder before the deadline, but that Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has told Bruce he is open to a deal.
