Newcastle United defeated Hull City 3-0 on Saturday and summer signing Remy Cabella was superb.
Newcastle United’s attacking midfielder Remy Cabella played an integral role in the Magpies’ 3-0 victory against Hull City this weekend.
The 24-year-old scored his first goal since arriving in the summer, netting from 20 yards to set Newcastle on their way to a vital win, in John Carver’s first match since being named the club’s new head coach.
Cabella made a name for himself at former club Montpellier by scoring great goals, and he finally got on the score-sheet for the Magpies – in his 24th appearance – to show his new fans exactly what he is capable of.
But Cabella does more than just score, he is a battler, as the 14 duels he won on Saturday testify. He also went on six dribbles and played two key passes.
| Passing Accuracy | Goals | Key Passes | Dribbles | Shots on Target | Touches | Duels Won | Interceptions Won | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rémy Cabella | 95% | 1 | 2 | 6 | 1 | 64 | 14 | 2 | 72 |
In just 72 minutes on the pitch, the Newcastle player proved categorically that he is a class player, and the trick now is to ensure he shows consistency in the coming months.
If he does, after his latest showing there is no reason he cannot go on to become a great at the club; after all, he is a creator, a scorer and a tenacious individual, and one senses he finally showed the full package to a fan-base in need of a new hero.
