In our view, Allan Saint-Maximin must add more goals and assists to his game to avoid getting replaced by Newcastle United in the future.

There is no denying that the Frenchman is one of the best players in the Premier League outside the ‘Big Six.’

Furthermore, the skilful winger is also one of the most entertaining players in the entirety of the division.

But his lack of goal output could lead Eddie Howe’s side to look elsewhere in a few years.

Allan Saint-Maximin needs to up his output to avoid getting replaced by Newcastle one day

Allan Saint-Maximin fits Newcastle’s counter-attacking system to a tee.

Being one of the finest dribblers in Europe whilst also having pace to burn, it is no coincidence why he has thrived under Eddie Howe.

But with the Magpies now having the resources and the transfer acumen to upgrade virtually every position, the ex-Nice wideman could be succeeded by a fresh face due to his lack of output.

It is the absence of this very feature that stops Allan Saint-Maximin from being classed as one of the best wingers in the league.

For context, the 25-year-old is yet to match Miguel Almiron’s current goal tally of eight league goals since joining the club in 2019.

Even assists wise, the £93,000-a-week star is yet to exceed his best-ever total of five in the English top-flight.

While Newcastle were not the beast they were during Saint-Maximin’s early days, it’s high time he starts putting up big numbers on the board for the currently 3rd placed side.

In this day and age especially, wingers that fail to match their all-round displays with high goal and assist numbers are viewed as limited.

With Newcastle aiming to reach the top, which seems inevitable, they could leave Allan Saint-Maximin behind if he does not turn into an output machine.
