Arsenal suffered a crushing defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night as their Premier League title hopes took a huge dent.

The Gunners are still top of the Premier League by two points, although the Citizens have two games in hand over the north Londoners.

It seems as if the pressure of the situation is getting to some of Mikel Arteta‘s squad, as Ben White was seen doing something odd to Phil Foden after the 90 minutes had ended.

What’s the story?

Well, the £93,000-a-week Arsenal man was seen grabbing the Manchester City No.47 as the players shook hands on the Etihad Stadium turf.

Nobody knows what ignited the incident, although it was certainly strange to see two players who know each other from England international duty coming to blows.

White appears to start it by approaching Foden and grabbing his shirt in aggressive fashion, before the Manchester City wonderkid shoves the Arsenal No.4 away.

Bernardo Silva immediately defuses the situation, before Erling Haaland, Rodri and Kyle Walker jog over to defend their teammate as well.

Arsenal should still believe despite loss to Manchester City

In our view, it isn’t over yet.

Of course, Arsenal fans all over the globe now appear to have given up hope of winning the Premier League, as most expect Pep Guardiola’s side to win their two games in hand.

However, Manchester City have already fought their way back into the title race with a 3-1 win over Arsenal in February, only to draw 1-1 against Nottingham Forest the following week and slip back into second.

Therefore – with clashes against Chelsea, Brighton, Brentford and others still to come, there is still a chance of the Citizens throwing points away.

In some ways, Wednesday’s result could be a blessing for Arsenal, as the pressure is now off – if the Gunners can win all of their remaining fixtures, then anything is possible.
