The midfielder was once again the star of the show in his central midfield role against Everton.
Arsenal’s win over Everton on Saturday saw them move top of the table for the first time in 20 months and complete what has been a fantastic week for the side.
One man who has been key to their recent success is Santi Cazorla, who has continued to impress in a central midfield position with a number of top notch performances.
The game against the Toffees was no different as he bagged an assist for the second goal and was generally in fine form once again.
We decided to take a look at his stats to see how well he performed.
| Match | Total Pass | Accurate Pass | Total Att Assist | Ontarget Att Assist | Touches | Unsuccessful Touch | Total Contest | Won Contest | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Santiago Cazorla | Arsenal vs Everton | 80 | 74 | 5 | 3 | 106 | 0 | 3 | 3 |
Starting with passing, Cazorla was in his element as he made 80 passes throughout the game, with 74 proving to be accurate ones, a success rate of 92%.
As well as bagging an assist, he was a creative force throughout as he registered five attempted assists and got three of those on target, a success rate of 60%.
In fact his influence on the game is clearly demonstrated in the number of touches he had, 106 in total, more than any other player on the pitch. Similarly impressive is the fact that none of those proved to be unsuccessful ones.
Despite his central midfield role he also managed to impress with his dribbling, as he enjoyed three contests in the game and won all of them.
Another impressive performance from Cazorla then, who is continuing to prove the doubters wrong in that central midfield position.
