The Swedish defender was wanted by Leeds, and reportedly Brighton.
Toward the end of last year Leeds United were being linked with an interest in Swedish international full-back Linus Wahlqvist.
It was reported by FotbolDirekt in September that Leeds were willing to pay around £900,000 to sign the talented defender in the summer.

Now the player himself has admitted there were offers from some big clubs in January. He confirmed as much to Fotbol Direkt. He told the Swedish source, who also reported interest from Championship rivals Brighton:
“I can only say that there have been concrete bids from fine clubs.
“But I have a plan that I’ve worked for and we turned these down. It’s looking good.”
If Wahlqvist did head to Leeds United he would be joining his Swedish compatriots Marcus Antonsson and Pontus Jansson but it appears he is a man in high demand.

The 20-year-old made his international debut for Sweden last year and has gone on to make five caps for his nation.
He can play at centre-back or left-back but his best position is at right-back. Considering the fact Leeds already have the likes of Luke Ayling, Gaetano Berardi and Lewie Coyle who all play at right-back but the quality and utility that Wahlqvist would bring would surely be welcomed.
