David Ornstein has provided a transfer update that will be music to the ears of Arsenal fans all around the globe.
The Athletic’s hugely reliable Arsenal correspondent revealed that a deal to take Martin Ødegaard from Real Madrid to Arsenal is ‘90% done and looking good’.
It appears that the Gunners have fended off interest from Real Sociedad, where the Norway international spent last season on loan.
However, Ornstein says that a few more details still need ironing out.
Arsenal are not yet in the position to bring Ødegaard over to north London for a medical, as Ornstein says the deal has not been finalised yet.

Having said that, the signs are hugely encouraging, and it feels as if it’s only a matter of time until this transfer is completed.
After getting rid of one creative MÖ, it looks as if Arsenal will be bringing another eye-catching MØ to the Emirates just days later.
Ødegaard will initially arrive on loan, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist adds that a ‘key factor’ behind the deal was Mikel Arteta’s decision to speak directly to the player.
Ødegaard should be just what Arteta needs as the Spaniard attempts to inject more creativity into his side.

The 22-year-old is, quite simply, a creative machine.
Real Madrid’s No.21 registered two key passes per game in 31 La Liga appearances last season.
So far this term, Ødegaard has recorded three key passes per game in two Champions League outings, as well as 3.5 per game in two Nations League games for Norway.
