On Tuesday night, Tottenham and Harry Kane watched a familiar face in Kyle Walker dominate a Champions League Semi-Final.

The Manchester City No.2 – who left Spurs in 2017 in a £50m deal – delivered an outstanding display against one of Europe’s best wingers in Vinicius Junior as the Citizens recorded a 1-1 draw in Madrid.

After the 90 minutes ended, a piece of footage emerged which will surely make Kane question some things.

What’s the story?

Well, a 9-second video went viral on Twitter of Vinicius complaining to Ederson about how difficult Walker is to beat, before the pair embrace after slapping hands.

It may just be a short clip, but it showed just how respected the England international is on the world stage by some of the best around, after developing into one of the greatest defenders on the planet at Manchester City.

Walker’s decision to leave Tottenham at his peak – something Kane tried, but failed, to do in 2021 – has seen him rewarded with 11 trophies and respect from the likes of Vinicius Jr.

While he has since earned the title of record goalscorer for both England and Spurs, Kane would surely be left thinking about what could have been if he happened to see the footage of Walker.

Had the Tottenham No.10 managed to push through his desired move to Manchester City in 2021 after handing in a transfer request, we feel he would be far more respected on the European stage amongst those outside of England.

Harry Kane seems focused on Tottenham

While Kane may be looking back on the past and thinking about what could have happened, he seems focused on Tottenham right now.

The 29-year-old recently told Sky Sports that he wants to help Tottenham create a winning culture after years of standing still, or in truth, going backwards.

Kane’s comments – specifically his use of the word “we” – certainly make it sound like he plans to stay at Spurs to help turn things around, which would be a very surprising development after what happened in 2021.

Hopefully, the Tottenham talisman can win some trophies at Spurs – it is the least he deserves after everything he has done in N17.
