West Ham have rejected the chance to sign Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea, with The Sun reporting that the striker is demanding wages of around £170,000-a-week.

The Hammers wanted the Belgian before his £33 million switch to Stamford Bridge, but The Sun suggests that his wage demands have prompted the Irons to walk away from discussions over a deadline day move.

Ryan Lowe has told Bury’s official website that he was astonished that they were able to get a loan deal done for Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter.

Rossiter has joined the League Two side until the end of the season, and Lowe disclosed that he rejected two third tier clubs in England and two of the Gers’ Scottish Premiership rivals.

“Ultimately, when you have a Scottish Premiership player, that has also played in the Premier League for Liverpool and has had good development and grounding, saying that he wanted to come and play for Bury Football Club, well I was astonished by it,” he told the club’s official website.

While Rangers let one player go on deadline day, their rivals Celtic are still working on pulling off a late loan deal for Jeremy Toljan, with Sky Sports’ live transfer blog (31/1; 19:39) reporting that the Hoops have agreed a deal in principle with Borussia Dortmund.

Sky Sports reports that the two clubs are confident that the move will be finalised by tonight’s deadline.

The Sun reports that Newcastle and Fulham have both failed with deadline day moves for Manchester United defender Antonio Valencia.

Valencia is out of contract in the summer, according to The Sun, and is now planning to see out his deal at Old Trafford rather than join the likes of the Magpies or Claudio Ranieri’s side.

Finally, the Birmingham Mail is reporting that Leroy Fer is undergoing a medical at Aston Villa ahead of a last minute move.
