Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a player who could be better than the Manchester United left-back.
According to a recent report from the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur have been told they will have to pay £8million to bring Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon to White Hart Lane.
He may only be 16, but given the left-back’s innate talent it would be a no-brainer parting with the cash to ensure he heads to Spurs rather than one of his other potential suitors.
The inflated transfer fees in football these days mean it can sometimes be hard to identify a bargain, but if Tottenham can seal a deal for Sessegnon for the £8million being touted it would certainly fall into that category.
When you consider Manchester United spent £27million (as reported by the BBC) for Luke Shaw when he was only 18, Sessegnon’s alleged price tag starts to look increasingly low.
He may not have Premier League experience but the teenager has already turned out 18 times for Fulham this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in the process.
Sessegnon is also more versatile than Shaw, able to play on the left wing as well as in the back line, and those in the know feel he has all the attributes to be a future England international.
In fact, while Shaw’s career has stalled at Old Trafford, Sessegnon’s could be about to reach a new level and Tottenham may grab the player Shaw was once tipped to be for a fraction of the price.
