The 22-year-old’s outstanding free-kick on Saturday was reason enough for his performance to be applauded and it will be interesting to see how many goals he has scored come May, given that he already has nine in the league and 11 in all competitions this season.

In short, the Tottenham player is on the path to becoming a superstar and the fact that he is pushing his average stats higher and higher can only be a good thing.

His recent scoring form means he could push his goals-per-game ratio to around one in two if he continues on his current trajectory, and that would be a wonderful achievement for a player who remains so young but whose class often disguises that fact.
