The German was the star man again alongside Alexis Sanchez for the Gunners.
Arsenal’s win over Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday evening was a big one for the side.
With their Champions League campaign hanging by a thread, only a win would keep their hopes of reaching the last 16 alive.
They got just that, beating the Croatians 3-0 on the evening to set up another must-win clash with Olympiacos in the final round of games.
One man who was key in the victory, as he has been all season, was Mesut Ozil with the German putting in another dominant display for the side.
We decided to take a look at his stats to see just how good he was.
| Match | Pass Success | Final Third Pass Success | Total Contest | Won Contest | Touches | Goals | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mesut Özil | Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb | 88% | 91% | 6 | 3 | 96 | 1 |
Starting with his passing, Ozil was imperious in that department once again as he posted a pass success of 88%.
This was bettered by his passing in the final third, with him completing 91% of his passes in that area of the pitch.
Elsewhere, his dribbling was relatively successful as he completed 50% of his dribbles in the game, a decent number for someone who’s not known for that trait.
His touch in general was much more impressive though, as he managed a touch success of 98% throughout the game.
The stat that matter most though was his goal, with him bagging the opening with a brave header to set his side on to their victory.
It was another fine passing display from Ozil though, who has stepped up to become the man Arsenal need this season.
