Tottenham ace Kyle Walker played well in his first match since signing a new contract.
Kyle Walker has been one of Tottenham Hotspur’s most reliable players in 2016, and he continued his impressive form with an excellent display against Middlesbrough.
The right-back was rewarded for his consistency just 24 hours earlier, when he signed a new contract with the club, extending his deal until 2021.
Tottenham’s Kyle Walker applauds fans after the game
Walker was named in the starting line-up for the fixture away to Middlesbrough, and played an important defensive role as the team clinched a hard fought 2-1 victory.
The England international recorded an impressive pass completion rate of 88 per cent, a noteworthy figure for any player competing in an away fixture.
Walker won two tackles and made two interceptions, also winning the ball back a further seven times for his side. Also commendable was the fact he was not dispossessed on a single occasion.

It was only in early 2015 that there were question marks over Walker after a few shaky performances after his return from a long term injury – and Spurs sought to buy Kieran Trippier as cover.
Yet last season he was superb and answered all doubts, also winning back his place in the England team.
Tottenham see him as the present and the future of their right-back position, and at the Riverside he demonstrated why he is so effective at what he does.
