West Ham United should consider a summer swoop for the Manchester City defender.
According to Belgian media outlet HLN, Galatasaray are weighing up a summer bid for Manchester City centre-back Jason Denayer, and West Ham should challenge the Turk’s for his signature.
New Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini has a lot of work to do at the London Stadium this summer, if he is to guide his side to a successful campaign this season, and he will surely be looking to bolster his defensive ranks.
With James Collins now departed from West Ham, Angelo Ogbonna on the wrong side of 30 and Winston Reid set to join him in July, an injection of both youth and quality in the central defensive department will be vital for West Ham.
And Denyaer could be just the man for the job.
The 22-year-old has spent four separate loan spells away from the Etihad with Celtic, Sunderland and Galatasaray (twice), and he has undoubtedly developed into a better player with the experience of playing regular first-team football.
City value Denayer at €10 million (£8.8 million), according to HLN, and that would represent excellent value for the Hammers.
The Belgian is quick along the ground, and standing at 6ft 1in tall, he is strong in the air. He is physically strong, and is not afraid to mix things up with the opposition, what with his tenacious playing style.
Denayer would be a fantastic addition to the West Ham squad, and for just £8.8 million, they should not hesitate to bring the Belgian to east London this summer.
