Tottenham Hotspur flop Vlad Chiriches has been a success at Napoli.

Vlad Chiriches was one of the most unsuccessful signings made by Franco Baldini at Tottenham with the Gareth Bale money.
The Romanian international failed to convince successive managers or supporters that he was good enough to hold down a regular spot in the team after his £8.5 million switch from Steaua Bucharest in 2015.
Spurs cut ties with Chiriches in 2015, selling him to Napoli.

At Napoli he has earned the trust of new boss Maurizio Sarri, so much so that he wants to tie Chiriches down to a lengthy new contract.
Chiriches is 28, and while he has been used irregularly by Napoli this season, just five league appearances, he is a player they have faith in as a dependable back-up.
His last league appearance was a fortnight ago and he impressed keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 away win at Udinese.
Good enough for Napoli, perhaps with a bit of persistence and the right coaching, Chiriches could have continued to play a useful role at Spurs as a back-up too.
Either way, the Romanian will be glad he moved on if he can land a lucrative new contract as as reward for his new-found reliability.
