The Leeds United midfielder helped them to a 3-2 victory against Norwich City this weekend.

Leeds United had plenty of heroes against Norwich City this weekend, but one who has not got as many plaudits as he deserves is midfielder Eunan O’Kane.

The 26-year-old has settled seamlessly into the Whites’ midfield, impressing alongside Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira.

On Saturday it was the former, although the latter came off the bench to secure both the headlines and the three points with an injury-time winner.

Despite that, O’Kane deserves credit, with a passing accuracy of 85 per cent and a superb 11 ball recoveries ensuring Leeds won the midfield battle.

O’Kane also touched the ball 66 times – the second highest of any Leeds player on the day – and he was dispossessed just once all afternoon, showing his composure throughout.

As well as his defensive work, O’Kane also played two key passes to set up goal-scoring opportunities for a teammate, and on this evidence it may be hard for Liam Bridcutt to get back into the starting line-up even when he is fully fit.
