Everton got back to winning ways on Wednesday night, beating Leeds United 2-1 away at Elland Road.

The Toffees were beaten by Newcastle United over the weekend, and had to hit back with a fine performance against Leeds.

Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin struck for Everton, and whilst Raphinha pulled one back, Leeds couldn’t find a leveller.

Everton took the three points, and whilst he wasn’t on the scoresheet, Lucas Digne was earning huge praise for one specific moment of outstanding quality.

Digne made a great run down the left, and despite being boxed into the corner, he somehow picked out an inch-perfect cross for Sigurdsson to score.

When it comes to attacking play, Digne is one of the best in the league; that’s why Manchester City want to sign him according to The Times.

Pep Guardiola will surely have been impressed with that assist and will wonder if his City side could benefit from the Frenchman’s ability going forward.

One man who will be well aware of the interest in Digne is agent Mikkel Beck, and he took to Twitter on Wednesday night to hail his client.

Beck first tweeted marvelling at Digne’s assist, before later adding that it was a ‘world class’ performance from Digne, and noted that he is the ‘best left back’ – and City will surely be lurking.
