Watford fans think Newcastle United have no chance of signing Ismaila Sarr from them in January.
Sarr to Newcastle?
The Daily Mail say that Newcastle are looking at landing the rapid winger, as they eye up transfer targets for the new year.
However, Watford are one of the clubs embroiled in the relegation battle with Newcastle currently.
And Hornets fans cannot see Newcastle being able to buy Sarr, unless they offered an exorbitant sum.
Could Newcastle do a deal?
In monetary terms Newcastle arguably could afford whatever fee Watford demanded for Sarr now.
However, the Magpies must ensure that they don’t overspend, as they try to fit in with Financial Fair Play regulations.
While Newcastle do have a fair amount of wriggle room, they also need to conduct major surgery on their squad.
Spending an inflated sum on Sarr, therefore, may not be the most advisable transfer move.
And while Newcastle will be expected to spend big in the new year, it does seem that this particular transfer could be one which is difficult to pull off, even despite all their new riches.
