The RB Leipzig star would be a superb addition to the Tottenham Hotspur side.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is adored by the Tottenham faithful, but the Argentine might just be feeling the pressure for the first time since his appointment as manager in 2013, to add real quality to his squad this summer.

One particular area of concern for Poch will be his wide attacking options, with Erik Lamela’s ongoing injury problems beginning to become a genuine concern, and no expected return date set as yet for the winger.

With this in mind, the addition of a talented, attack-minded midfielder will surely feature highly on his agenda, and a fantastic option for the Lilywhites could be RB Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg.

The Sweden international was nothing other than sensational for the German side last term, clocking up an impressive tally of eight goals and 19 assists in 30 Bundesliga outings.

The 25-year-old right-footed left winger has pace in abundance, and approaches the game with a certain kind of fearless attitude that would surely impress Pochettino.

His dynamic playing style, and explosiveness over the first 10-yards would add a level of potency to Spurs’ attacking play, and his potential arrival at the club would almost certainly help bring out the best in the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.

Another string to Forsberg’s bow is the fact that he can also operate in the central striker role, so he could double up as Kane’s understudy, should the England international be ruled out for any kind of prolonged period.

He is under contract with the Bundesliga side until the summer of 2022, however, so he will certainly not come cheap, but if Tottenham truly want to be considered as an elite club, they will have to start acting like one.

And the signing of Forsberg would be a great place to start.
