West Ham United have not given up on signing Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes on transfer deadline day, according to The Daily Mail (Transfer blog, 18:25pm, August 31, 2017).
It has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur are the frontrunners for the 24-year-old midfielder’s signature and are still the favourites.
The report, though, has stated that West Ham are on “standby”, and are ready to step in and sign Portugal international midfielder Gomes.
Achraf Lazaar
Achraf Lazaar looks to be heading out of Newcastle United on transfer deadline day.
According to Sky Sports (Transfer blog, 18:24, August 31, 2017), Lazaar will join Italian side Benevento.
The 25-year-old Morocco international left-back joined Newcastle from Palermo in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £2 million.
Mamadou Sakho
Liverpool have accepted a bid of £26 million from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace for Mamadou Sakho, according to Sky Sports (Transfer blog, 18:46, August 31, 2017).
According to the report, Sakho is on his way to London at the moment in order to undergo a medical.
The 27-year-old France international centre-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Palace from Liverpool.
