Tottenham confirm Gedson Fernandes exit
Just over a year since Tottenham brought in Gedson Fernandes on loan from Benfica, the midfielder has moved on. Fernandes has barely featured this season, and rather than sit around at Spurs, he has gone back to Benfica – and immediately been sent on loan to Galatasaray in search of first-team football.
The Wright move for Rangers
Rangers have secured Scott Wright on a pre-contract agreement, with the Aberdeen winger heading to Ibrox for free – until now. Sky Sports claim that Rangers have struck an agreement with Aberdeen to sign the 23-year-old, which will now see Ross McCrorie’s permanent move to Pittodrie brought forward for a discount. The deal will now see Aberdeen pay £!50,000 plus Wright to sign McCrorie, with the winger’s deal set to go through tonight.
Bernard’s Everton exit collapses… again
Back on deadline day in October, Roma looked likely to sign Bernard, but Carlo Ancelotti managed to convince him to stay put at Goodison Park. This time around, Bernard looked set for a move to the United Arab Emirates with Al-Nasr, but the Liverpool Echo report that the deal has fallen through – meaning Bernard is now expected to stay put again as another deadline day exit slips away for the Brazilian.
Newcastle signing falls through
Newcastle have been looking to bring in Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury, but The Athletic’s David Ornstein claims that deal will not be happening tonight. Newcastle were part of a proposed transfer triangle, that would have seen Choudhury head to Tyneside, Matty Longstaff go from Newcastle to Watford, and then Watford’s Nathaniel Chalobah on to Leicester. However, Longstaff heading to Vicarage Road fell through, meaning the whole deal is off.

Arsenal miss out on Valentin Antov
In January, TEMA Sport in Bulgaria reported that Arsenal wanted to sign CSKA Sofia talent Valentin Antov – but they have now missed out on the 20-year-old, as Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Bologna have won the race for his signature. Arsenal may want to keep tabs on him moving forward, as he will now have the chance to become a star in Italy.
